Rental or Purchase? What to Include in Your Enquiry

Compare rental and purchase requirements when preparing your scaffolding enquiry, including duration, equipment scope and support.

Scaffolding providing access alongside a construction structure
01 / Project guide

Begin with the work you have planned

Share the site location, work area and equipment you are considering. Include an existing system name or component list if available.

02 / Project guide

Share the expected duration

For rental, give the start date and planned duration. For purchase, describe repeated use, storage needs and the quantities required.

03 / Project guide

Explain the support you need

Mention delivery access, erection, modification and dismantling requirements. The quotation should clarify what is included.

04 / Project guide

Compare the full requirement

For a single project, describe the hire period and how the equipment will be returned. For repeated use, explain the work you expect to undertake, existing equipment, storage space and handling arrangements. Ownership does not remove the need to plan inspection, maintenance and appropriate use.

Ask for transport, equipment and any site services to be identified separately. Compare quotations against the same component schedule and responsibilities. A lower headline figure may cover a different scope, so clarify exclusions before deciding.
